International contemporary artist Brad Kenny specialises in portraiture and figurative representation of the human condition, exploring emotions, identity, character and narrative through his work.

Citing influences such as Andrew Salgado, Jenny Saville and Lucian Freud, Brad notes that his work is characterised by a balance between representation and abstraction, the abstract element of his paintings allowing him his own form of expression.

We were inspired not only by Brad’s striking works of art, but also by the fact that, as a dyslexic artist, he views painting as a unique form of communication – a language of its own.

Having already exhibited in London and New York, and with sales across the globe, Brad is definitely one to watch.

We asked Brad to share one of his favourite places in London….

A creative atmosphere

"The street food is fantastic and varied, with a creative atmosphere, artworks and characters, it is a historical location in the shadow of the Cutty Sark and Greenwich Park housing the Royal Observatory / The National Maritime Museum."

Brad is one of a group of talented artists who are taking part in the Artist Support Pledge. - The concept is for artists to offer works for sale priced up to £200. Once the artist reaches £1,000 in sales, that artist pledges to buy artworks from other artists up to £200. Find out more about the project at the hashtag: #artistsupportpledge
