Heather Lincoln is the wonderfully creative mind behind Mauve et Blush, a bridal boutique based in Southern California.
Inspired by the enchanting feeling surrounding weddings, Heather's designs blend artisan beading, lace appliqués and delicate fabrics, to create eye-catching pieces, each one made to order.
Having lived in a whole host of cities, from Miami to New York, and even Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Heather now calls LA home. As a lover of the great outdoors, she loves the lifestyle the city can offer. People might think of LA as just being huge highways, but she's keen to point out that there's much more to it than that!
We asked Heather to share her Los Angeles...
HUNTINGTON DESERT GARDEN
Colourful cacti collection
"The Huntington Library - and specifically the Desert Garden - really is a fantastic, wild array of succulents and cacti with an enchanting and colourful nature."
"I love the sushi at Chiba in North Hollywood - it's this hidden gem in LA. Very unassuming on the outside; minimalistic décor and mouthwateringly terrific on the inside. Japanese chefs prepare a great selection of rolls and sashimi."
WILL ROGERS STATE PARK
Former estate of a Hollywood legend
"I'm all about the outdoors, and I love taking a horseback ride through the Will Rogers State Park in the Pacific Palisades. He was an actor and well-connected public figure in the 1920s and 30s, and his ranch is a breathtaking escape from city life."
Brunching under blue skies
"Another great activity is driving on the PCH along the ocean and stopping at Malibu pier for brunch, sipping cocktails and eating Swedish pancakes, enjoying sunny days and blue skies. Alternatively, going to Taverna Tony for late afternoons or dinner and eating enormous amounts of Greek dips - I can never get enough of the tzatziki and taramasalata!"
"Once the world's largest public cafeteria, Clifton's now features a peculiar mix of décor (including a gothic bar and taxidermy), but its tiered levels each offer a different cultural and musical vibe - from Flamenco to Salsa and Tango. I love popping in on the Tango dancers - it's 100% encouraging me to learn a new dance form and visit Argentina!"
