Jerffson Sousa has lived in Lisbon for the past 4 years, where he works for a Portuguese bank. When he's not in the office, he enjoys experiencing the vibrant city and all it has to offer.
A coastal capital city with a ton of character, these days Lisbon is known for being a creative hub, popular with artists and startups alike. Its historic, intricately cobbled streets are now home to cutting edge galleries, excellent nightlife, and inventive and experimental restaurants.
So, it's probably no surprise that many of Jerffson's suggestions focus on food and drink. Here are some of his favourite places in the city...
Playful Portuguese cuisine
Sitting at the top of a 19th Century palace, this inventive restaurant boasts a spectacular terrace looking over Lisbon and the river: "In addition to the excellent food, it also has one of the most beautiful views in the city."
CAFÉ LINHA D'AGUA
This beautiful café in a corner of the Parque Eduardo VII allows guests to take a drink overlooking the lake: "Calm and pleasant space for those who want to have a nice breakfast or a few drinks at sunset."
One of the best rooftop bars in Lisbon, SkyBar allows you to beat the heat of the city streets and drink in the views: "There you will also find a restaurant with incredible cuisine. Combines good taste, interesting people and a breathtaking view of the city."
The place to party
"A neighbourhood entirely focused on Lisbon's nightlife. Alternative, relaxed, lively, diverse and many other adjectives. The whole neighbourhood exudes party atmosphere. There is no way to leave Lisbon without leaving on a Friday to enjoy the upper quarter."
