MY CITY

ALBERTO ALVAREZ

ZARAGOZA

Alberto Alvarez - better known as The Macro Wizard - inspires thousands of people on their fitness journey. Following his own incredible physical transformation (he lost over 65 kg!), he has carved out a reputation as a key figure in health and nutrition education.

Alberto loves to explore, travelling and working from almost anywhere in the world. On a mission to visit as many countries as possible (he was already up to 51 countries when we spoke to him!), Alberto is a true digital nomad.

When he's not pinballing around the globe, Alberto calls the Spanish city of Zaragoza his home. We asked him to share some of his favourite places in the city...

"Best views and coffee in Zaragoza, period. This place serves great specialty coffee and delicious food all day long. Its location - near the river, opposite the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of El Pilar - makes it a great meeting (and people watching) spot all year round."

Great coffee + people watching

MATISSE RIVERA CAFE

"This restaurant, located right in the heart of the city, serves what I find to be the most delicious mixture of flavours in a dish. They may look like burgers, tacos, enchiladas, and falafel to you, but trust me, give it a go and you will be coming back for more and more!"

Buzzing local restaurant

JALOS

"Authentic little place that serves Middle Eastern food with a Spanish touch - think tapas and mezze, combined. You'll also find the cheapest food prices in the city, but don't be put off by them - looks can, and in this case, are deceiving. Must try the hummus - Get three to share with your table!"

Middle Eastern cuisine with a Spanish touch

MR. DUMBO

"If you are looking for your "typical" tapas in Spain, try this place and be surprised. It is much, much more than just that. The guys at La Clandestina have managed to bring their travel learnings to Spanish cuisine and deliver a variety of colours, smells and flavours that will tempt you to come back."

Tapas with a twist

LA CLANDESTINA CAFE

"Full of areas to relax, work out, people watch, or just go for a walk, I find myself coming to this place more and more whenever I want some time for myself or plan an afternoon with friends. Pro tip for when the weather is good: Get some food to go at Mr. Dumbo, a few blankets and cold drinks - it's a great spot for a picnic!"

Beautiful park in the centre of the city

PARQUE GRANDE JOSE ANTONIO LABORDETA

Alberto shares his learnings in nutrition, fitness and mindset through The Macro Wizard website. His book, Un Mago en la Cocina, offers practical advice for a healthy lifestyle, including more than 40 recipes, shopping lists and suggested meal plans.
